Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 11 September 2026
Read this before anything else on this page.
Enrolment is not open. No payment can be taken on this site. Nothing you do here forms a contract with us. There is no working checkout, no cohort has a price, and no order has ever been placed. If you are reading these terms to work out what you have agreed to by browsing, the answer is nothing.
The terms below are published in advance, deliberately, so that they are the terms in force from the first rupee rather than something written after the first dispute. They will become operative only when this site can actually sell you something.
These terms govern your use of vidhigurukul.com and any course you buy through it. By using the site or enrolling in a cohort you accept them. They are written to be read; if anything here is unclear, ask the Grievance Officer before you buy, not after.
1. Who you are contracting with
Courses on this site are sold by Anurag Choubey, a sole proprietor trading as The Knowledge Tree (GSTIN 10AHDPC5941L2ZN), whose principal place of business is B-5, A. G. Colony, Patna, Bihar 800025. Its Grievance Officer, contact details and complaint procedure are on the Grievance page.
2. What you are buying
A seat in a named, dated cohort of a named course. Before you pay, each cohort page states its start date, its schedule, the faculty who will teach it, the number of teaching hours it contains, the number of seats, and a single all-inclusive price with the tax shown as a break-up. The per-hour figure beside the price is calculated from the price you actually pay divided by those stated hours — it is never typed in by hand.
Classes are taught live, online, through our own classroom. A recording of each session is published back to the cohort that attended it. We are not selling you a pre-recorded library: the recordings exist because the live classes happened, and access to them runs with your enrolment in that cohort.
What we may change, and how: if we have to move a session we will tell the cohort and reschedule it. If we change the start date, the named faculty, the schedule or the stated hours materially after you have paid, you may take a full refund instead — see the Refund Policy.
3. What this is not
This is the paragraph to read twice, because the sector is full of claims that do not survive contact with the regulations.
- Not a degree, a diploma, or any academic qualification. The University Grants Commission’s regulations prohibit the programme of study in Law from being offered in online or distance mode at all. Nobody may lawfully sell you an online law degree in India, and we do not.
- Not recognised, accredited or approved by anyone, because there is no recognition to obtain. The Supreme Court held in Mihira Sood v. Bar Council of India (3 September 2026) that the Bar Council’s authority attaches only after a person is enrolled as an advocate; it operates no approval regime for private certificate courses. Any seller claiming BCI or UGC approval for one is claiming something that does not exist.
- Not affiliated with, or run in association with, any university, National Law University, bar council, court or government body. If you ever see such a claim made in our name, it is not ours — report it to the Grievance Officer.
- Not a promise of a job, a salary, an internship, a pass, or any other outcome. We do not make placement or earnings claims, and we will not make one to you privately either. What we sell is teaching hours from named faculty.
- Not legal advice. Nothing taught here is advice on your own matter, and enrolling creates no advocate-client relationship with anyone.
Any certificate we issue records that you completed our course. It says nothing more than that, and it entitles you to nothing else.
4. Enrolment and payment
- The price you are charged is the price displayed. There are no fees added at checkout that were not shown before it.
- No box on this site is ticked for you. Nothing is added to your order that you did not choose.
- Nothing renews automatically. A cohort is a one-off purchase; we do not hold a mandate against your card and cannot charge it again.
- Your enrolment is personal to you. Please do not share your login, and do not re-stream, record or redistribute a live class.
- Card and bank details are handled by our payment gateway and are never stored by us. See the Privacy Notice.
5. Cancellation and refunds
Set out in full in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms: a full refund before your cohort starts, or after only its first class if you ask before the second begins; after that, a full refund only in the cases the Refund Policy lists.
6. In the classroom
Classes are live and other students are present. Be civil to the faculty and to each other. We may remove someone from a session for harassment, abuse, or deliberately disrupting a class — and if we remove you permanently, you keep whatever refund you would have been entitled to under the Refund Policy, because a refund is not a punishment we get to withhold.
Sessions are recorded. If you speak or turn your camera on, you may appear in the recording that is published back to your cohort. You are never required to turn your camera on.
7. Our material, and yours
Course materials, slides, recordings and notes are ours (or our faculty’s), licensed to you for your own study for as long as your enrolment gives you access. Please do not republish, resell or upload them elsewhere. Anything you write or say in class remains yours; we do not claim ownership of your work, and we will not use your name, photograph or testimonial in our advertising without asking you first and getting your answer in writing.
8. Availability
We give no uptime guarantee for the website. If a live class cannot run because of a failure on our side, we reschedule it or refund that session — that is a service commitment, and it is not affected by anything in this paragraph.
9. Liability
Where we are liable to you in connection with a course, our liability is limited to what you paid us for it. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and nothing here takes away a right you have as a consumer.
10. Complaints
Through the Grievance page: a ticket number on submission, acknowledgement within 48 hours, resolution within one month, under Rule 4(5) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. You may go to a Consumer Commission instead of, or as well as, complaining to us.
11. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and a material change is described rather than slipped in. A change never applies retrospectively to a cohort you have already bought: the terms in force when you paid govern that purchase.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at The courts that are to have jurisdiction are not yet named, because that follows the registered office above, which is not yet published. No contract is formed by using this site today, so no question of forum arises from it; the city will be named here before enrolment opens. are to have jurisdiction — subject to your right as a consumer to bring proceedings where you live.
